We are an EPA accredited training provider for the Repair, Renovation & Painting (RRP) Rule for Lead Safe Work Practices.

Our  course follows the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)/ U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development (HUD) training curriculum to train renovation, repair and painting contractors on how
to work safely in housing with lead-based paint and comply with EPA’s Renovation, Repair, and Painting
(RRP) Rule, and HUD’s  Lead Safe Housing Rule. 

When did this law take effect?  April 20, 2010.

What type of buildings does it cover?  Single/Multifamily dwellings/Pre-schools built before 1978.  This is "Target housing" this includes home daycares and church daycares.

When will enforcement of the law begin?  For individual certified renovator January 1, 2011 and for the
Firms October 1, 2010.

What do I get out of this training?

What are the penalties for non-compliance with the law?  Up to $37,500/day/violation

How long is the certification good for?  5 years

Who has to be certified? Anyone (sole proprietorship, LLC, etc.) receiving any type of compensation for
work  on a target house built before 1978 where a painted surface will be disturbed.  Also, any firm
(includes sole proprietor) that conducts this type of business must be certified by the EPA. If you are a property manager or real estate agent/broker that  has employees that do this type of work at least one of your staff needs to be certified or if you do it yourself you need to be certified, and, you (your firm) needs to be certified by the EPA.
